Deborah Ruth (Polk) Younglas, 68 of Oklahoma City died Thursday, March 14, 2024 at her residence.
The family will greet friends from Noon to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024 at Bishop Chapel of Memories. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Jesse Hernandez. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, McAlester.
Deborah was born to Joseph Pleasant and Mary Janet (Self) Polk on August 15, 1955 in McAlester. She grew up in McAlester and graduated McAlester High School in 1973. Deborah attended Southeast Oklahoma State University in Durant.
She began working for BancFirst at the downtown Oklahoma City office in the early 1990’s, where she continued to work as a reconciliation clerk.
Deborah loved to read and design floral arrangements.
She will be missed but not forgotten.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Polk; and a sister, Susie Polk.
She is survived by her son, Robert Younglas; brother, Mike Polk and wife, Joan; sister, Martha Black and husband, Dan; brother, Jim Polk; nephew, Jacob Black and wife, Ashley; niece, Jessica Polk; great nephews, Zeke Black and Luke Black; and her work family and colleagues at the downtown Oklahoma City BancFirst office; numerous other family members and friends.
