Hollis Weeks, 87 of Muskogee, died Monday, June 10, 2024 in Muskogee. The family will greet friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Pastor Leeland Curtis. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, McAlester. Pallbearers will be, Bradon Berry, Briley Berry, Landon Berry, Jeff Weeks, Larry Cox and Lucas Lawless. Hollis was born to Frank Hall and Ruby (Lowrey) Weeks on June 23, 1936 in Canadian. Hollis graduated from Canadian High School and continued his education at East Central University and Southeastern Oklahoma State College and earned a master’s degree in education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. He married Jeannetta Miller in 1960 in Canadian. They were married for 57 years before her death in 2017. He began his teaching career at Springfield, Colorado. He taught school and served as principal of Canadian High School retiring in 1994. Hollis enjoyed walking, staying physically fit and living a healthy lifestyle. He was a member of the Methodist Church Hollis was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanetta Weeks; son, Dan Weeks; father, Frank H. Weeks; mother, Ruby (Lowrey) Weeks; step mother, Arizona Weeks; brothers, Harold Ray Weeks, Eugene Weeks, Raymond Weeks, Lonnie Weeks, Vernon Weeks, Alvin Weeks, John David "Doodle" Weeks, and a sister, Mary Edna Cox. Hollis is survived by his daughter, Twila Berry and husband, Landon of Haskell; grandsons, Bradon Berry, Briley Berry; sisters-in-law, Donna Zwick and husband, Al, Peggy Weeks; nieces, Donna Manning, Carol Hammontree, Leann Thornton and Mary O’Brian nephews, Larry Cox, Gary Weeks, Mike Weeks, Owen Weeks, Jay Weeks and James Weeks; numerous other family members and friends.
