Terry Lynn Sledge, age 75, born January 6, 1951, to Orville Eugene Sledge and Ophelia Ann Tullis in Ponca City, OK, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026. A public viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Bishop Chapel of Memories. Dr. Michael Vallandingham and Rev. Todd Sledge will be officiating. A burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, McAlester, Oklahoma, under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Pallbearers will be Michael Vallandingham, Todd Sledge, Jonathan Vallandingham, Nate Shipman, Josiah Sledge, Abel Vallandingham, Elijah Sledge, Zechariah Sledge, and David Vallandingham. Terry began preaching at 16 and was ordained a minister on February 27, 1972. He pastored multiple Southern Baptist churches across the state of Oklahoma, leaving a legacy of lives transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He married the love of his life, Patti Humble May 25, 1972, in Ponca City, OK. They were married for nearly 54 years. In his early 30s, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. He, with his family, bravely battled the disease until he heard, "Well done, My good and faithful servant." He built lasting friendships and touched many lives with his kindness, humor, and generosity. He will be missed by those who loved him dearly. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, an uncle, Robert Sledge, father and mother-in-law, Leroy & Maxcene Humble. He is survived by his wife, Patti Sledge, his daughter and son in law, Tara & Michael Vallandingham, his son and daughter in law, Todd & Jennifer Sledge, 16 grandchildren; Nate & Jordan Shipman, Jonathan & Hannah Vallandingham, Abel, Ruby, David & Hannah Vallandingham; Rebekah, Isabella, Josiah, Ophelia, Elijah, Zechariah, Thresa & Talitha Sledge and 1 great granddaughter, Eliana Shipman. He is also survived by his brothers, Stan & Karyn Sledge, and Troy Sledge, and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
