Carolyn S. Laudermilk, 77, of McAlester, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023 at Beare Manor in Hartshorne. Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 27, at 10:30 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Samuel Laudermilk, Michael Hyden, Michael Leffler, Christopher Moss, Matthew Hyden, and Doug Hyden. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Barlow, Jeff Crumbley, David Evans and Donny Evans. Carolyn S. Laudermilk was born on December 6, 1945 in McAlester to Charlie and Estelle (Thompson) Jernigen. She grew up in the Ulan area and graduated from McAlester High School. She married Tommy Joe Laudermilk on February 12, 1962 in Poteau and they quickly made their home in McAlester. Carolyn worked as a machinist at National Oilwell for over 30 years. In her spare-time, Carolyn enjoyed sewing and was a regular volunteer for the Pride in McAlester organization. She also enjoyed taking her grandchildren and Michael Hyden fishing. Carolyn is survived by 2 sons, Terry Laudermilk, and Randy Laudermilk and his wife Sarah; 2 grandchildren, Samuel Laudermilk and Emma Laudermilk; a special niece, Paula Hyden and her husband Doug and their children, Christopher Moss and wife Rebecca, Hailey Kiefer and husband Tony, Michael Hyden and wife Morgan, and Matthew Hyden; brothers, Larry Jernigen, and Charlie Jernigen and wife Debbie; sisters, Donna Barlow, Charlene Evans and husband, Harrell; and sisters-in-law, Mary Kessler, Loretta Laudermilk, Mary Laudermilk, and Debbie Jernigen. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Laudermilk; her infant son, Tommy; her parents, Charlie and Estelle Jernigen; one brother, Ronny Jernigen and one sister, Evelyn Crumbley.
