Leisa Dawn Lott Grissom passed away on July 8, 2024, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Born on the joyous occasion of Christmas Eve in 1961, in Ceres, California, Leisa was a beacon of light and love throughout her 62 years of life. Leisa's early years were spent in Ceres, California, where she was born to parents Robert Lyndell Lott and Rosemary (Black) Lott. She grew up alongside her brother, Randall Lane Lott, and together they made countless memories. Leisa's education journey saw her graduate from Ceres High School in 1980, after which she pursued her passion for beauty and style by attending Beauty School. Professionally, Leisa dedicated many years to serving the community at Target and Walgreens in California. Her commitment and work ethic were evident to all who knew her, and in 2014, she brought her talents to the McAlester Walgreens, where she continued to brighten the days of customers and colleagues alike. In 2020, Leisa began working for the United States Postal Service in McAlester, where she was currently employed. Leisa's spirit was a beacon for those navigating the stormy seas of life. As a recovering alcoholic, she not only celebrated many years of sobriety but also served as a lighthouse for countless others as an AA sponsor. Her friends and family often described her as a free spirit, confident, positive, and full of life. Indeed, Leisa's light didn't just shine; it danced. Her love for dressing up in costumes was legendary, and her sense of humor was as infectious as her optimism. She had the rare ability to turn the mundane into the extraordinary, and her laughter was the kind that could cure any ailment. Family was the cornerstone of Leisa's world. She is survived by her loving husband, George Darl Grissom; children: December Catholine Thomsen and husband Luis Espinoza, Wendy Marie Grissom, and Darl Wayne Grissom; and her cherished granddaughter, Kayla Cole. Her Yorkie, Big Tex, was a constant companion and source of joy. Leisa's parents, Rosemary and Robert Lott, her brother, Randall, and her nieces and nephew, Lanie Renea, Emilyrose, and Curtiss O'Dell Lott, will hold her memory dear. Her life-long friend, Kara Oliver, and her extended family, including aunts, Novella Watley, Floetta Bullock, Glenda Black, and Melinda Black, an uncle, Chester Lott and numerous cousins, will miss her deeply. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Heaven Lee Hicks; niece, Taylor Renea O'Brien; aunts: Carolynn Grogan, and Luella DeSignori; uncles: John Black, Steve Black, and Jerry Lott; and her grandparents, Curtiss and Thelma Lott, and Paul and Elsie Black. Leisa Dawn Lott Grissom's journey on earth may have come to an end, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her laughter, her warmth, and her unwavering optimism will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will forever be a source of comfort and joy to her family and friends. Leisa's life was a beautiful reminder that even in the darkest of times, the human spirit can shine brightly, illuminating the path for others to follow. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the Chaney Harkins Funeral Home Chapel.
