Shane Chapman, 37, of Arpelar, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Bishop Chapel of Memories. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Shane was born on June 14, 1984 to Ray and Edith (Ellis) Chapman in McAlester. He worked in the oil field for the past 16 years. Shane enjoyed team roping, gathering with friends and family, and most of all making memories with his children. He is preceded in death by his father: Ray Chapman. Shane is survived by his mother: Edith (Ellis) Chapman of Arpelar; his children: Brody Chapman, Vanessa Hogue, and Laurel Hogue; his brothers: Preston Newman and Roy Williams; sisters: Cathy Holt and Terri Sharpe; his nephew: Zaiden Newman; his niece: Kennedy Cosgrove; his special cousins: Amie, Dana, and Steph; special friends: Danny Teague, Gerald Justice, Julia Chapman, and Brian Smith; his special aunts: Wanda Bigelow and Debbie Ellis; along with numerous cousins and other family. Most of all what Shane wanted at his funeral was no sadness or tears. Instead, talk about the good times and all the things he has done to make people laugh. Share stories of the good times, and good memories, and then after have a meal for Shane at Rib Crib.
