Daniel William Boone Sr., 91, of Escondido, CA, formerly of Ada, passed away on November 16, 2024. He was born in Tuskahoma, OK on February 18, 1933, to John F. Boone Sr. and Ruth Cooper Boone. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents John F. Boone Sr. and Ruth Cooper Boone, beautiful wife of 63 years, Kathryn Virleene Loman Boone, siblings, John F. Boone Jr., Dorothy Jackson, Mary Ann Anderson, Jack Marion Boone, and James Boone, great-granddaughter, Amanda Smith and son-in-law Gary Sinay. Daniel is survived by his children Debra Sinay of Escondido, CA, Daniel Boone Jr. (Susan) of Fort Smith, AR, Paul Boone of Fort Smith, AR and Brenda Boone of Cardiff, CA; grandchildren Wende Temple (Nick) of Murfreesboro, TN, Ryan Wilson (Diana) of Poway, CA, Thomas Smith IV (Marsha) of Murfreesboro, TN, Kimberly Weaver (Blake) of Alma, AR, Daniel Boone III of Fort Smith, AR, Alexander Boone of Cincinnati, OH, and Jessica Boone (Peter) of La Vergne, TN and thirteen great-grandchildren. Daniel graduated from Ada High School where he excelled in all sports. During high school, at the age of 15 ½, he enlisted in the National Guard. He married Virleene Loman, his high school sweetheart, on August 27, 1951, in Los Alamos, NM. They lived in Los Alamos until 1956 and then returned to Ada where he attended and graduated from East Central State College in 1960. After graduating from college, he began his teaching career in Albuquerque, NM. In 1962, he moved his family to Southern California, earned two postgraduate degrees and enjoyed a successful career as teacher, counselor and administrator at Rolling Hills High School, Palos Verdes High School and Moreno Valley High School. Additionally, he spent time in Durango, CO as the owner of the Silver Spur Motel. Daniel loved traveling with Virleene in their motor homes, spending time with family, hunting, fishing, tinkering with antique clocks and a good game of penny poker. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His strong work ethic, his ability to fix anything and his generosity will continue to influence future generations. Services are 10:00 am November 26, 2024, at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in McAlester. Bearers will be Daniel Boone Jr., Thomas Smith IV, Daniel Boone III and Blake Weaver.
