Barbara was born 31 May 1929 in Dorchester, Dorset, England to John and Mary (Steirn) Patterson. She married Ronald J. Blandamer and had two sons: John and David. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her sisters: Kathleen, Jean, and Sheila; former husband Ron; and her son, David. She is survived by her brother, John; her sister Nicola, and her son: John and wife Midge. She has six grandchildren: Trecia, Scott, Brian, Diane, Kevin, and Sarah; and 19 great grandchildren: Cody, Joshua, Austin, Matthew, Logan, Luke, Savana, Briana, Owen, Madison, Shane, Ember, August, Julianna, Ethan, Jacob, Alaysia, Jeremey, and Isabella. Barbara worked as a registered nurse for many years in McAlester and Oklahoma City. She loved to serve others and was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, most recently teaching children in Primary class. She loved to travel and once drove her small camper to Alaska with just her dog as her companion. She also enjoyed reading and the beauty of nature around her, especially the birds. She was an avid knitter and often made dozens of knitted wash clothes for family, friends, church members, and others. She made elaborate Christmas stockings for all her family members. She even made one for her future great-great grandchild (due in August). Barbara's grandchildren and great-grandchildren will fondly remember the past few years when there was always room for a bowl of ice cream in the evening.
