Alva Venita "Nanny" Allen was born July 16, 1918 at Haileyville, Oklahoma. She passed away March 6, 2014 at McAlester, Oklahoma. Services were at First Free Will Baptist Church in McAlester, Oklahoma on Monday, March 10 at 2:00 pm.

Active pallbearers were Jimmy Pingleton, Fred Miller, Seth Thomas, Easton Pingleton, J.P. Miller and Danny Daniels. Honorary pallbearers were James Daniels, Cole Thomas, Trent Miller and Tyler Shannon. Officiating was Rev. Steve Mayhew. Her final resting is Oak Hill Cemetery in McAlester.

Survivors include a son, Jesse Daniels of McAlester and a daughter, Deborah (Gregson) and John Shannon of McAlester; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Daniels of Shawnee, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren & spouses, Pam & Mike Thomas, James Earl & Debbie Daniels, Deanna & Jerry Dornan, Frankie McDonald, Jim & Ginger Pingleton, Geneva & Fred Miller, Brenda & Gerald Ledford, Danny & Shellie Daniels and Lori & Erik Russel; 21 Great-Grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters & brothers-in-law, Hazel & Marvin Dunn of Krebs, Oklahoma, Janet & Richard Wily of Norman, Oklahoma.
