Jewell Dean Williams, 72, of McAlester, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, at her home. Jewell Dean Williams was born on March 24, 1944 to John Henry and Grace Lee Brown. She departed this life at home on January 11, 2017 in McAlester, Oklahoma. She attended L'Ouverture High School, but later on obtained her G.E.D. She worked for the City of McAlester (Kibois Community Action) delivering lunches to the elders in this community. She loved fishing, cooking, and most of all playing bingo. She was a kind and loving person. She loved her family. Jewell was baptized at an early age. She was a member of West Bethel Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Robert Warren. She leaves to cherish her memories, husband, John W. Williams; three daughters, Antoinette Helem (Michael), Larquita Ayers (Steven), and Vivian Walters all of McAlester; sons, Roy L. Williams of McAlester and Richards Williams of Oklahoma City; Fifteen Grandchildren; Ten Great Grandchildren and beloved friends, Darthula Moton, Angie Pinkerton, Krystina Garcia and Maureen Harrison. Also five sisters, Bobby Jean Lawrence (Steven), Joyce Simms (Ron), Gloria Kalu, and Betty Brown all of Oklahoma City, Carolyn Brown (David) of Tulsa; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jewell was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and John Henry Brown; sister, Johnnie Mae Toole; brothers, Henry Brown and Jessie Brown; two grandsons, Lyndon Walters and Martel Smith; two nieces, Yolanda Toole and Jochlyn Brown. Pallbearers will be: James McNeil, Delonte Miller, Steven Ayers, Charles Rowan, Phillip Walters, Tyrone Walters, Raithan Walters and Roy Lee Williams. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Mount Triumph Baptist Church with the Rev. Anthony Washington officiating. Interment will follow at North Town Cemetery in McAlester.
