Katherine Stacks, 91, of Sherman, Texas, formerly of McAlester, died Friday, September 19, 2014 at Carrus Specialty Hospital in Sherman. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Brother Jerry Jiles & Brother Sterling Taylor officiating. Interment will be at North Town Cemetery. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service. Katherine was born on September 17, 1923 in Tuskahoma to Jim & Clemeth Cartlidge Fulton. She married Marvin George Stacks on May 31, 1937 in Eufaula. After spending time in Dallas, Texas and McAlester, she lived at the Texhoma Healthcare Center in Sherman where until her sudden illness was very active in all the nursing home activities. She loved attending the church services and playing the games with the other residents. She also enjoyed reading, watching game shows on television and writing letters to her family and friends. Survivors include her daughter: Linda Brewer; son & daughter-in-law: Jimmy & Brenda Stacks; grandchildren & spouses: Joann Coats, Vance & Rebecca Reidling, Vickie & Brian Dickens, Christa & Brent Linsteadt, Cathy Welsh, Misty Shelton, James, Jr. & Patty Hawkins; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces & nephews; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Marvin Stacks, a daughter: Patricia June Key, and all her brothers & sisters. Pallbearers will be Vance Reidling, Paul Dickens, Kenneth Coffman, Derek Coffman, Kevin Linsteadt, Carlos Sandoval, and Erik Welsh. Services for Roma (June) (Mackey) Kirkland, of Kiowa, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate. Burial followed at Ashland Cemetery under direction of Brown's Funeral Service in Coalgate . Ms. Kirkland died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Oklahoma City.
