David Franklin Johnson, 63 of McAlester died Sunday, May 5, 2024 in Muskogee. The family will greet friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Canadian Shores Free Will Baptist Church near Indianola on Highway 113 officiated by Rev. Brent Jarrett and Rev. Roy Lish. Burial will follow at North Town Cemetery, McAlester. Pallbearers will be, Rick Lott, Jesse Lott, Curtis Lott, Bradley Lott, Russell Ferrari, and Peyton Campana. Honorary pallbearers will be, Ken Sparks and Keith Lott. David was born to Henry Barfield and Betty Lou (Gabbard) Johnson on July 12, 1960 in Weslaco, Texas. He attended Indianola School. He worked as a commercial plumber at All American Plumbing in Sapulpa for over 38 years, where he worked on constructing the BOK Center in Tulsa as well as many others. He took great pride in his work. David married Sharon (Means) Vails on February 5, 2011 at Canadian Shores Free Will Baptist Church. He was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with his family and friends. He was known as a great cook, and loved to grill and bar-b-que. He was especially known for his chicken and dumplings. David also enjoyed going fishing. David enjoyed life, his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was a man of faith and lived a life serving others, he was a member of Canadian Shores Free Will Baptist Church. He will be missed but not forgotten. David was preceded in death by his parents, Henry B. Johnson and Betty Lou Stanley; and a brother, Preston Johnson and sister-in-law, Terri Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Johnson of the home; daughters, April Johnson, Jessica Soblaskey and husband, Marty, Haylee Ferrari and husband, Russell, Aubrey Cooper and husband, Ross; step-sons, Rick Lott and wife, Sharon, Curtis Lott and wife, Faye, Jesse Lott; grandchildren, Peyton Compana, Kylee Johnson, Brookelyn Lyle, Rylan Lyle, Tynlee Cathey, Kelly Lott, Bradley Lott, Tyler Lott, Skylar Lott, Billy Lott, Emaliza Hindsman, Nikoha Ferrari, Gunner Ferrari, Cayden Ferrari; brother, Henry Johnson and wife, Janet; sister, Linda Flint and husband, Mike; brother-in-law, Rev. Roy Lish and wife, Orvella; sister-in-law, Pam Scott; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
