Submitted by: Carol Spear Rice

A.C. Doyle, a cherished family man, respected veteran, and dedicated public servant, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2024 at the Chaney Harkins Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at North Town Cemetery officiated by Ron Colson. The burial will follow. Military honors provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be DeWayne Allford, Kevin Doyle, Aaron Middleton, Ethan Goodwin, Devan Goodwin, and Teran Goodwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Miranda, Jax Miranda, Dean Doyle, and Hayden Carpenter. A.C. was born on June 15, 1930, in Crowder, Oklahoma, to Emery and Olive (Denny) Doyle. He married Lorene Henderson on November 3, 1951. A.C.'s life was one marked by service and commitment. After bravely serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, he continued his life of service as a transportation officer for the Oklahoma State Penitentiary, where he dedicated 25 years. Upon retirement, he did not slow down but instead took on roles as a school bus driver for McAlester Public Schools and as a mail truck driver, ensuring he remained an active and contributing member of his community. Family was the cornerstone of A.C.'s life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lorene (Henderson) Doyle; and his parents: Emery and Olive Doyle, as well as his eight brothers and sisters. His legacy lives on through his children: Cecle Doyle and wife, Sunny of Ada, Oklahoma; Donna Allford and husband Randy of Wesley Chapel, Florida; and Cora Middleton and husband, Jerry of McAlester, Oklahoma. A.C. was a proud grandfather to DeWayne Allford and Michael, Kevin Doyle and Lyndsie, Randie Michelle Goodwin, Teri Miranda and Justin, and Aaron Middleton. His joy was multiplied as he watched his great-grandchildren Dakota and Hayden, Cheyenne, Reese, Dean, Ethan, Devan, Teran, Eden, and Jax grow and flourish. During his retirement, he could often be found with a fishing pole in hand, tending to his garden, or surrounded by the laughter and stories of his family. His faith was a guiding force, and he was a devoted member of Zion's Rest Primitive Baptist Church, where he found great solace and community. A.C.'s life was a testament to the values he held dear: faith, family, and service. His memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories shared by his children, the laughter of his grandchildren, and the blossoming of his great-grandchildren. A.C. Doyle's journey on earth has concluded, but his spirit and the impact he made on the world around him will endure for generations to come.
