Juanita Zummer, 87, of McAlester, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at her home. A rosary will be recited on Monday, March 18th, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at the Chaney Harkins Funeral Home Chapel led by Deacon Bill Anderson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19th at St. John Evangelist Church celebrated by Fr. Leonard Higgins. The burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in McAlester. Pallbearers will be: Chris Pulchny, Dustin Pulchny, Ryan Moy, Loyd London, Mark Moy, and Donnie Pulchny. Honorary pallbearers will be: Corporal Mason Zummer, of the U.S. Marines, the Knights of Columbus and their wives, the Ladies Group of St. John and, the Altar Society of St. Josephs, Krebs, OK. Juanita was born on March 5, 1937 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Harold Addison and Jennie (Fassino) Addison. She married Louis Zummer on November 27, 1958. She graduated from McAlester High School with the Class of 1955. Juanita worked at the Oklahoma State Prison for over 20 years. She is survived by her husband: Louis Zummer of the home; her children: Teresa Moy and husband, Mark of Krebs, Cindy London of McAlester, Sheila Zummer of Oklahoma City, Mark Zummer of Forney, TX, Pam Pulchny and husband, Donnie of McAlester, and David Zummer of Garland, TX; her grandchildren: Erin Shoemaker and husband, Jeremy of Pennsylvania, Ryan Moy and wife, Janae of Krebs, Loyd London of McAlester, Toni London of McAlester, Emily Zummer of Forney, TX, Chris Pulchny and wife, Kali of McAlester, Dustin Pulchny and wife, Taylor of McAlester, Amanda Perry and husband, Tanner of Hartshorne, and Mason Zummer and wife, Norika of Japan; her great grandchildren: Addison, Kayden, Keaton, Fisher, Genevieve, Wyatt, Oliver, Nicholas, Nathan, and Macy Kaye; and her sister: Sylvia Hass of McAlester; along with many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Juanita is preceded in death by her father: Harold Addison; and her mother and step-father: Jennie (Fassino) Addison McDougal and Robert McDougal. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Juanita's caregivers for the wonderful care they provided: La Cressa "Lala" Tinsley, Diana Sutmiller, Connie Walker, and Life Spring Hospice: Ava and Kristen.
