Wilma Tolson, 91, of McAlester, died Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at a local nursing home. She was a great Christian woman and dedicated mother, wife, and grandmother.Wilma was born to Will & Talitha Murphree Hunt in Shiloh, Arkansas on May 31, 1925. She grew up in Arkansas, becoming a Christian at an early age, and married the loved of her life, Howard Tolson, on October 3, 1941. The union lasted for 72 years.Wilma was loved by everyone that knew her. She and her husband, Howard, were co-owners of Tolson Welding and Medical Suppies and helped many people. She was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church for 18 years and a member of the First Baptist Church for 50 years.Wilma was a dedicated Christian and very active in her church until her going to the nursing facility.Survivors include her sons: Gary Tolson and wife, Mary of Seminole, Troyce Tolson and wife, Pat of McAlester; daughter: Pricilla McKinney and husband, Mack of Colby, Kansas; grandchildren: Chanel Katic & husband, Sebastjan; Robyn Odell & husband, Zach; Jeff McKinney and wife, Tammy, Kevin Tolson, and Ryan Young & his wife, Karistin; numerous great-grandchildren; and many friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Howard Tolson, sisters: Ophila Moody & Idell Furr, brother: Hubert Hunt, and a grandson: Dane Tolson.A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Rodney Briggs officiating.In lieu of flowers and for those who feel inclined, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Falls Creek Cabin, 100 East Washington, McAlester, OK 74501.A special thank you to all the dedicated workers at Walnut Grove Assistance Living Center where many employees have grown to love Wilma and Howard.
