Steven Stanfield, 66, of McAlester, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 21, at McAlester Regional Health Center. Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Joe Randazzo officiating. Steven Stanfield was born August 29, 1958 in McAlester, Oklahoma to David and Carolyn Stanfield. Steven's proudest moments were being a dad to his two sons Heath and Dane Stanfield. He loved spending time with family and friends, serving others and hunting and fishing. He was a devout Christian and often talked about how glorious heaven will be. Steven was a long time RN at McAlester Regional Health Center for well over 30 years . He was known for his infectious laughter, accommodating attitude and gentle spirit. He served the hospital for many years in ER, recovery, IT and was a life flight nurse for Air Evac. Steven also proudly served in the Army National Guard. Steven loved a simple life, being in nature and spending treasured moments working in the yard. He had a natural talent for gardening and each spring looked forward to making his yard a little more beautiful than it was the previous year. Steven is survived by his two sons and daughter-in-law‘s Heath and Kaylee Stanfield, Dane and Nicole Stanfield and granddaughter, Birdie. A sister, Stacy Stanfield, who was also his dear friend. They were all of McAlester. A nephew, Blaine Mooneyham and wife Audra of Tulsa, and his lifelong friends, Randel and Sharon Terry of Lubbock, Texas. Plus, very special people Wes Carter, Britney Barlow and Phil Horton. Also, two aunts, many loved cousins and numerous friends. Steven was preceeded in death by his parents, David and Carolyn Stanfield.
