Donna Sue (Callaway) McKee, 81 of Haywood died Sunday May 19, 2024 at her residence. The family will greet friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2024 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. Chip Lott. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery, McAlester. Pallbearers will be Tyler McKee, Jeffrey McKee, Braden McKee, Lane Blasengame and C.J. Collings. Donna Sue was born to Jack and Elva (Echoff) Callaway on April 22, 1943 in San Diego, California. She graduated from Del City High School and obtained an Associate's degree from East Central College. Donna married James Daniel McKee on May 28, 1961 in Del City and they had a loving and caring relationship for nearly 63 years. She worked for the Department of Corrections at Oklahoma State Penitentiary as a procedures officer. Donna enjoyed life, family members and her many friends. In her free time, she loved to sew, go thrift store shopping, and photography. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. The legacy of Donna's zest for life, will live long through her family, especially through her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Donna was a person of faith and a deep love of God. She had a kind and gentle spirit, and was always there to brighten the lives of others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Elva Callaway; son, Jeffrey Darren McKee, Sr.; daughter, Juli Diahann Collings; sister and brother-in-law, Becky Kennedy and Clarence "Tex" Kennedy; and father-in-law, Robert "Bob" Marvel, Sr. Donna is survived by her loving husband, James, McKee, Sr. of the home; sons, James "Jamie" McKee, Jr. and wife, Lee Ann of Eufaula, Joe McKee of McAlester; daughter, Linda White and husband, Scott of Arpelar; son-in-law, Cary Collings of Canadian; grandchildren, Jamie Lee McKee, Tyler McKee and wife, Karrisa, Malarie Blasengame and husband, Tyler, Davey Carlin, Jeff McKee, II and wife, Denise, Kristen Casey and husband, Justin, Dee Dee McKee, Courtney Barnett and husband, Colby, Cheyenne Crowder and husband, Jake ; numerous great grandchildren; brother, David Callaway and wife, Charlene; mother-in-law, Dorothy Marvel of Eufaula; brother-in-law, Robert "Bob" Marvel, Jr. and wife, Denna; sister-in-law, Dorcille Reed; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Donna Sue will be missed, but not forgotten.
