Daniel Anderson "Andy" Marco, 78, of McAlester, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 at his residence. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Brian Smith officiating. Burial will follow with military honors by the US Air Force Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Marco, Stephen Marco, Heath Marco, Kenneth Haile, Nathan Haile, and Bennie Wester. Daniel was born on December 28, 1941 in McAlester to Charlie and Myrtle (Lavera) Marco. Andy entered the United States Air Force on October 12, 1959 in Oklahoma City, and served until October 11, 1963. He returned to McAlester for a short while and reentered the United States Air Force on February 21, 1966, serving until April 11, 1969, earning the rank of sergeant. Andy married Anna Lou Otto on April 4, 1970 in McAlester. He worked for Holsum Bakery as a baker, and in the water department for the City of McAlester for a short time. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and attended North Side Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed working in his shop on various projects, woodworking, and tinkering on mowers. Andy was a friendly, loving person and could converse with anyone. He is survived by his wife: Anna Marco of the home; sons: Frank Marco of Oklahoma City, Alex Marco of McAlester, and Stephen Marco of Hawaii; grandchildren: Brooke Marco, Miguel Marco, Myron Marco, Alejandro Marco, and Bentley Marco; sister: Lucy Allen of McAlester; sister-in-law: Jennifer Marco of Tannihill, sister and brother-in-law: Deloras Haile and husband, Kenneth of McAlester; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. He is preceded in death by his parents: Charlie and Myrtle Marco; brothers: John Marco, Frank Marco; sister: Nora Marco; grandchildren: Erica Marco, Ryan Marco, and August Marco; and niece: Heather Marco.
