Alexander Orlando Marco, 37 of McAlester died Tuesday, July 13, 2021 in McAlester. A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery officiated by Rev. Brian Smith. Burial will follow. Honorary pallbearers will be, Kenny Haile, Nathan Haile, Heath Marco, Johnathan Herrick, Nick Arnold and Andrew Smith. Alex was born Alessandra Lopez on May 23, 1984 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He was proud of his Mayan heritage and liked to be called the "Lil Mayan". At the age of 8, he was adopted with his brother, Frank by Andy and Anna (Otto) Marco. Alex went to New Covenant Fellowship Christian Academy until the 6th grade and graduated from McAlester High School. He attended college at Oklahoma State University and Northeastern State University pursuing a degree in art. Alex served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 8 years. He had worked at Remington Park in Oklahoma City and recently started working for the Choctaw Nation Travel Plaza Casino Too. Alex was a talented artist and shared an art studio in his dad's shop. He enjoyed helping Anna and Andy around the house, cooking, cleaning, and making household repairs. He attended Northside Assembly of God Church. Alex was known by his family to be loving, gentle, good hearted and considerate. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Anderson "Andy" Marco on November 30, 2020 and an unborn infant son, August Marco in 2002. Alex is survived by a son, Bentley Marco; mother, Anna Lou Marco of McAlester; brothers, Frank Marco of Oklahoma City; Stephen Marco of Hawaii; aunts, Deloras Haile and husband, Kenneth of McAlester; Lucy Allen of McAlester, Jennifer Marco of Tannehill; cousins, Kenneth Ray Haile, Nathan Wade Haile, Heath Marco; other family members and friends.
