Cynthia Gale Gillispie, 59, of McAlester, passed away Friday, November 15, 2024 at McAlester Regional Health Center. Funeral services are Tuesday, November 19, at 2:00 p.m. at the Haywood Baptist Church, with Pastor Terry Brinkley officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in McAlester. Pallbearers are Tommy Brannon, Bruce Brooks, Joe DeLaune, Chris Brannon, Michael Wayne Maisano, and Paul Gillispie. Cindy Gillispie was born on March 7, 1965 in Lamar, Colorado to Jim and Clara (Brannon) Murray. Two years later the family moved back to the Haywood area where Cindy grew up. She graduated from McAlester High School with the class of 1984. Over the years Cindy had worked at several different jobs, including work at the Army Plant, then as a logistics specialist at Spirit, then as a CMA at McAlester Regional Hospital, before moving to Caring Hands clinic, where she was currently working. She married Robert Gillispie on June 3, 2016. Her spare-time was taken up, mainly, by spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Cindy is survived by her husband, Robert Gillispie; her children, Tannery Emery, Micah Emery, and Tori Gillispie-Parent and husband Brett; her grandchildren, Amelia and Nova Emery; mother, Clara Murray; a sister, Deborah Lenardo; aunts and uncles, Joyce and Bill Sanmillen, Tommy and Shirley Brannon, and Joe and Betty DeLaune; nephews, Kyle Murray and Devin Hill; cousins, Chris Brannon, Mark Wood, Doug Wood, Brett Wood, Bruce Brannon, Lisa Lott, Paul DeLaune, Angie Sanmillen, and Lance Sanmillen; a brother-in-law, Paul Gillispie and wife Brenda; and a special family member, her Red Healer, Charlie. Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Jim Murray; her grandparents, Tommy and Connie Brannon and Luther and Olive Murray; and a niece, Cassandra Murray, and an aunt, Judy Ogeila.
