Joseph Milton Finger, 70, of McAlester, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. An Internment is scheduled at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in McAlester, Oklahoma under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A Viewing will be Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Josesph was born on June 3, 1953 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Hugh Crisler Finger and Mary Josephine (Oldham) Finger. Joseph earned a Bachelor's degree from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, dedicating many of his working years to the Internal Revenue Service at the Federal Building in his hometown. He married his wife, Tammie Dianne Sanders on October 20, 1995 in McAlester, Oklahoma. Joseph found immense joy in old fashioned hobbies which included restoring cars, a passion that reflected his keen eye and meticulous nature. His love wasn't limited to just machines, he adored his faithful canine companion, Shadow, imparting in him a tender and loving side. As a steadfast supporter of Oklahoma OU, his spirit and enthusiasm as a BOOMER SOONER football fan was unparalleled. Joseph will be fondly remembered for his dedication, love for life, and his vibrant contribution to community service during his tenure. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and passion. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Finger and her spouse, Natalie Manning of McAlester; along with other family members and friends. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents: Hugh C. and Mary Finger; his wife, Tammie Finger on September 15, 2019; his wife's parents; James and Rosa Lee Sanders.
