Ora Lee Dawson, 92, of McAlester, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Porta Caeli House in Tulsa. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2021 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Brian Smith officiating. Ora Lee was born March 6, 1929 in McAlester to Ora and Ala Mae (Patterson) Nash. She graduated from McAlester High School. She married George "Bob" Dawson on November 16, 1946. She worked as a clerk in special weapons at the US Army Ammunition plant for a number of years. Ora Lee is survived by her son: Gordon Dawson and Sherry of Sand Springs; daughter: Karisa Hattey and Barny of Lone Jack, Missouri; grandchildren: David Roth of Alderson, Kerri Boyanton and Josh of McAlester, Hailey Lande and Matt of Tulsa; great-grandchildren: Vance Roth and Dani of Krebs, Darci Pearson and Chris of Norman, Ethan Boyonton of McAlester, Haedin Lande, Alex Lande, and Graysen Lande, all of Tulsa; and great-great-grandchildren: Gavin Roth, Logen Pearson, Randall Pearson, Madison Pearson, and Rugger Pearson. Ora Lee was preceded in death by her parents: Ora and Ala Mae Nash, husband: Bob Dawson, daughter: Kay Minyard, and a sister: Betty Dickey.
