Lola Mae (Rose) Cordell, 94 of McAlester died Monday, July 22, 2024 in McAlester. A private graveside service was held Thursday, July 25,2024 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery officiated by Rev. Steve Mayhew. Lola was born on December 31, 1929 in Clayton, Oklahoma to William Daniel "W.D." and Sarah (Seawright) Rose. She graduated from Buffalo Valley High School. She married Jack Lloyd Cordell on June 29, 1951 in McAlester. Lola retired from Safeway in 1986, returned to work as a seamstress for Komar and retired in 2005. She was of the Nazarene Faith and attended McAlester First Free Will Baptist Church with her husband, Jack. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Daniel "W.D." and Sarah Rose; her husband, Jack Cordell in 2019; daughter, Susan Tabor; sister, Helen Young and brother-in-law, Gaylord Young; brother-in-law, Willard Greenmyer; brothers, Leo Rose and J.D. Rose and sister-in-law, Louise Rose. Lola is survived by son, Kirby Cordell and wife, Debbie of Broken Arrow; step son, Rex Cordell and wife, Mary of Hawaii; daughter, Diane Soles and husband, Jim of Krebs; grandchildren, Jimmie Soles and wife, Darylyn of Krebs, Brian Soles of McAlester; Jennifer Kosty and husband, Keith of Broken Arrow, Janna Doughty and fiancé, Jason Burroughs; great grandchildren, Makenna Nichols and husband, Blake of McAlester, Kayla Kosty Cole and husband, Trent of Broken Arrow, Megan Kosty of Broken Arrow; great-great grandchildren, Ariana Columbo, Duegray Soles of Owasso, Bryson Nichols of McAlester, Mason Nichols of McAlester, Alex Columbo, Gabriel Columbo; sister, Dovie Greenmyer of McAlester; nieces, Patsy Barnes, Debbie Brownlee; nephews, Doug Rose, Derrick Rose; other family members and friends.
