Jean Cecil, 73, of McAlester, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 in McAlester. Jean was born on October 20, 1949 in McAlester to Willie Leonard and Lula Mae (Ratcliff) Cecil. She was a lifelong resident of McAlester and taught school here for many years before retiring. After teaching, she also worked for First Baptist Church in McAlester for 12 years. Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Sylvia Cecil and Ruth Cecil; nieces and nephews, Tina Cecil Pollack, Jennifer Cecil Bullard, Raymond Cecil, Raylene Cecil, Karen Sue Taylor, John Gibson and David Gibson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Lula Mae Cecil; brothers, Henry Cecil and Jim Cecil; sisters, Joanne Gibson and Barb Taylor. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park with Nathan Durant officiating. Burial will follow.
