Jean Bernhardt, 95 of McAlester passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021. Family will greet friends Monday, October 11, 2021 from 6 p.m.- 8p.m. at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Jamie Kirckpatrick with an interment to follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery. Jean married Harold Bernhardt on February 2, 1945. She worked most of her life as Loan Manager for Sooner Federal. She enjoyed sewing along with arts and crafts. Jean is survived by her son; Larry Bernhardt and Paula of McAlester; her grandchildren, Todd Bernhardt and Kathy of Texas, Angel Bernhardt of McAlester, Honey Williams and Brian of McAlester; great grandchildren, Krystal, Skyler, Rachel, and Shelby and 3 sisters, Edith Morgan, Joyce McClean, Barbara McClandon and Jim, along with many numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and her big Church family. She is preceded in death by her husband Harold Bernhardt, parents; Clarence and Gertrude Baker; sisters, Thelma Mazick and Lee Blackburn; daughter, Diane Bernhardt; and by her infant grandson, David Lance Bernhardt.
