David Monroe Rogers, 64, of Hartshorne, died Sunday, December 22, 2024 in Hartshorne. The family will greet friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Bishop Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2024 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Chaplain Jeff Little. Burial will follow at McDougal Cemetery, Canadian, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be, Luis Canizales, James Rogers, Adam Rogers, Jose Canizales, Archie Hyatt, Sr., Archie Hyatt, Jr. and Robert Rogers. Honorary pallbearer will be J. J. Rogers. David was born to Virgil and Edna (Hyatt) Rogers on October 10, 1960 in Canadian. He graduated from Indianola High School. David worked as a CNA for over 25 years at Regency Nursing Home/McAlester Nursing Center. There was nothing David liked better than teasing others and making people laugh. Making others smile would light up his day. David enjoyed attending garage sales and going to thrift stores. He had a passion for collecting antiques, decorating his home and loving on his beloved dog Trudy Mae. David was committed to his family and was a caregiver for his mother, Edna and son, Jeremy before their passing. He was always there to brighten the lives of others. David was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Edna (Hyatt) Rogers; son, Jeremy S. Rogers; step-son, Luther Conterez; brother, Norman Rogers; an infant brother, Billy Rogers and a sister, Glenda Nolasco. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. David is survived by daughter, Misty Canizales and husband, Alfredo; former wife, Dee Anna Conterez; step-daughter, Amanda Conterez; grandchildren, Robert Rogers, Alyssa Canizales, Estrella Dickey and husband, Caden; Jose Canizales, Arianna Canizales; brother, James Rogers and wife, Jacie; sisters, Marjorie Parkerson, Delpha Duffle and husband, Jake, Darlene Rodriquez and husband, Ivan; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. David will be missed, but not forgotten.
