Virginia Lee (Reed) Weaver, 81, of Kiowa, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at her home. Viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the Chaney Harkins Funeral Home Chapel with the family greeting friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2022 at the Kiowa Cemetery, Kiowa, Oklahoma with Reverend Jim Ray officiating. The burial will follow. Virginia was born on December 14, 1940 near Pittsburg Ok to Bessy Ruth (Nally) Reed and Virgil Lee Reed. Virginia had an older sister, Vivian and a younger brother, Billy Dale. There were also twin brothers that died in infancy. Virginia attend Pittsburg Public School and graduated in 1959. On January 25, 1961 she married James "Jimmy" Lee Weaver. They have two sons: Brian of Kiowa, OK and Bradley of Arlington TX. She and her family resided many years in Grand Prairie, Texas and the past 21 years living in Kiowa. She was a skillful artist with painting scenery, crocheting and growing roses. She enjoyed reading novels and attending local high school basketball games. She worked various jobs including school cook, retail, nurses’ aide, and daycare. Virginia also volunteered her time working with premature babies at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, and at the library in Kiowa. She was a life-long member of the Methodist Church. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She leaves behind her husband James of the home; sons: Bradley Weaver, and Brian Waver and his wife, Janice Bernardi-Weaver; her granddaughter: Jill Weaver and great granddaughter: Gentry D.
