Carolyn Jean (Misener) Batts, 77 of Kiowa passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025, in Kiowa. The family will greet friends 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 3, 2025, at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Kiowa Church of Christ officiated by Mr. Steve Mass. Burial will follow in Kiowa Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Derek Hatridge, Matthew Johnston, Grayson Griffin, Albert Alexander, Will Johnson and Sam Dugger. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews. Carolyn was born to Raymond Earl and Elois A. (Mitchell) Misener on September 5, 1947, in Kiowa. She graduated from Kiowa High School in 1965. She married Donald Ray Batts on March 26, 1965, in Kiowa. Carolyn worked in production at the McAlester Army Ammunition plant and then as a payroll clerk, retiring in 2003. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She never missed a chance to watch them at school or sporting events. She was committed to family making sure that all knew of her support to achieve their highest potential. She enjoyed the quiet reflection of reading and crocheting. Carolyn was a person of faith and lived a life serving others. She was a member of the Kiowa Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Elois Misener; husband, Donald Batts, Sr.; great grandson, Saxon Johnston; brother, Donnie Jack Misener; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lester P and Margie (Hobbs) Batts. Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Re Gina Dugger and husband, Jerry, Patricia Griffin and husband, Stephen all of Kiowa; son, Donald Batts, Jr. and wife, Debra of Krebs; 10 grandchildren, Amber Alexander and husband, Albert of Harpers Valley, Matthew Johnston and wife, Shelby of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Derek Hatridge of McAlester, Cheyhoma Dugger, Samuel Dugger both of Durant, Grayson Griffin of Oklahoma City, Peyton Johnson and husband, Will of Panhandle, Texas, Abby Batts of Krebs, Jenessa Dugger of Hartshorne, Ally Batts of Krebs; great grandchildren, Ethan Johnston, Logan Johnston, Corbin Johnston, Austin Alexander, Avery Alexander; brothers, Raymond Misener, Roger Misener; sister, Coleene Lewis and husband, George; sister-in-law, Bobbie Jean Cearley; brother-in-law, Tom Stephens; special cousin Stella "Jeanie" Vest; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
