Joseph Junior Billy, 79, of McAlester, died suddenly on Friday, December 2, 2022 in McAlester.
The family will greet visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022 at Bishop Funeral Service.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Bishop Chapel of Memories. Burial will follow in Isaac King Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Billy, David Moore, Harley Davis, Nashoba Davis, Ty Davis, and Anthony "A.J." Davis.
Joseph was born to Joseph Billy and Ida "Bell" King on October 30, 1943 in Talihina. He attended McAlester High School.
Joe married Sondra Wilson in 1980 in Oklahoma City.
He worked for Tinker Air Force Base and McAlester Army Ammunition Plant for a combined 23 years. He then worked at Wal-Mart in McAlester for 17 years.
Joe enjoyed music, especially 1950s rock and roll music, and was an avid vinyl album collector. He had over 8,000 vinyl records in his collection.
He was preceded in death by his father: Joseph Billy, mother: Ida "Bell" Frye, brother: William Sonny Billy, and a sister: Wanda Pridemore.
Joe is survived by his wife: Sondra of the home, brother-in-law: Titus Wilson, nephew: Shawn Billy, cousin: David Moore, and other family members and friends.
