Tonya Lea (Thompson) Pearce, 61 of McAlester died Wednesday September 27, 2023 in Tulsa. Viewing will be Sunday Noon to 5:00 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2023 at Indianola Cemetery Pavilion officiated by Pastor Brent Jarrett. Burial will follow. Tonya was born to Donald Edward Thompson and Paula Kay (Pucket) on April 17, 1962 in Dallas, Texas. When Tonya was younger, she worked for Sonic Drive-In in Texas. She married Author Pearce on June 24, 2003 in Crowder. They resided in McAlester, where she was a homemaker. She enjoyed yardwork, especially mowing the grass. Tonya liked being outdoors and enjoyed going fishing. Tonya attended the First Baptist Church of McAlester. Tonya was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Thompson and Paula Pucket; brother-in-law, Leon Pearce. She is survived by her husband, Author Pearce of the home; daughter, Candy Pearce, sons, Jacob Manning, Ray Pearce and Sonny; 2 grandchildren, Austin and one other; brother-in-law, Dearl Pearce; sisters-in-law, Freeda Thompson and husband, Phillip, Carol Rearick and numerous other family members and friends.
