The family will receive visitors on Thursday evening between 6:00 & 8:00 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Service.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 29 at the Indianola School Auditorium with Rev. Mike Perry and Rev. Rodney Karch officiating. Interment will be at Indianola Cemetery. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
Joyce was born on January 1, 1933 in Crowder to Raymond Lee & Bonnie Langham Ragan. She attended schools in Indianola and graduated from Indianola High School.
Joyce married Lynn Everett on September 5, 1951 in Indianola. After being gone the family moved back to the McAlester area. She worked for Pioneer Abstract Company, the store in Indianola and then worked for the Indianola School System for 44 years.
Joyce was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Indianola. She was also a member of the Indianola Water Board, the Indianola School Board, and on the Indianola Alumni Association. Survivors include her son: Michael Lynn Everett of Indianola; daughters: Beverly Jane Everett of Tannehill, Terri Denise Sexton of Indianola; sisters: Juanita Tucker of Merced, California, Alma Lee Sedivy of Afton, Carol Newberry of McAlester, Barbara Ann Harkey of Celina, Texas.
Also, grandchildren: Melonie Cox, Michelle Allen, Colby Sexton, Matthew Pryor; and great-grandchildren: Casey Lamb, Cameron Allen, Eli Cox.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Raymond & Bonnie Ragan and her husband: Lynn Everett.
Pallbearers will be Billy Vaughn, James Shropshire, Mark Thomas, Rod Griffith, Jimmy White, and Bill (Bubba) White.
Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Thomas, Mark Baumann, Paul Hamilton, Jerry Hamilton, Joe Kitchens, Sam Walden, Hulen Edwards, Jerry Prescott, and Bill Wright.
