Michael “Mike” Thomas Stephens, of McAlester, died Monday, September 12, 2016 at the McAlester Regional Health Care Center at the age of 55.
Mike was born on November 12, 1960 to Mark and Wilma (Griffith) Stephens. He graduated from McAlester High School with the Class of 1979.
Mike worked as a custodian at Komar Manufacturing for the last 28 years. He enjoyed helping others, and mowed lawns for many elderly people. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother: Wilma Stephens of McAlester; sister: Kathy Gragg and husband, Allen of Dow; brother: Gary Stephens of McAlester; aunt: Linda Griffith of McAlester; nieces: Katrina Gragg of Stigler and Michelle Gragg of Dow; great-nephew: Nathanael Gragg of Dow; and other family and a host of friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his father: Mark Stephens, sister: Donna Stephens, and niece: Gale Gragg.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 16 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Rev. Don Smith and Barry Norwood officiating. Interment will follow at Hugh Low Cemetery in Scipio.
Pallbearers will be Allen Gragg, Tom Bledsoe, David Fortune, Jimmie Brown, Willis Allen, and Danny McAfee.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Stephens, Tom Milstead, and Glenn Stone.
Arrangements entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service & Crematory.
