Lilah Lee Rodgers, age 83, died Sunday, December 18, 2016 in Oklahoma City.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester with the Reverend Chip Lott officiating. Burial will follow at Hugh Low Cemetery under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home.
Lilah Rodgers was born on May 23, 1933 in Scipio to Ernest "Kidd" and Edna (Beck) Barlow. She grew up in Scipio and graduated from Indianola High School. She married William T. "Bill" Rodgers, Sr. on May 18, 1952 in Greenwood, Arkansas. Since Bill was in the Air Force, they moved around for several years until his retirement in 1970, when they returned to Scipio.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Sheree Rodgers of Oklahoma City, three grandchildren, Christopher Rodgers and wife Rosemary of Oklahoma City, Tracey Rodgers of Oklahoma City, Scott Rodgers and wife Julie of Owasso, eight great-grandchildren, a sister, Renee Swanson of California, a sister-in-law, Edith Jeane Eichert of Woodland, California and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna Knight and Kidd Barlow, her husband, Bill, a son, Billy Rodgers, a sister, Joyce Odessa Zummer and two grandsons, Ricky Lee Rodgers and Eddie Marquex.
Active pallbearers are Oben Weeks, Howard Zummer, Troy Zummer, Chris Edwards and Terry Rowell.
Honorary pallbearers are Gene Clifton, Don Higgens, Kenneth Williams, J.D. Barlow, Bill Eichert and Stan Pore, Jr.
