William Fred Morrison, Jr. 77, of Scipio died Thursday, January 25, 2024 in Tulsa. The family will greet friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday January 29, 2024 at Bishop Chapel of Memories. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday January 30, 2024 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. David Cantrell. Burial will follow at Hugh Low Cemetery, Scipio. Pallbearers will be, Daniel Morrison, Ralph Higgins, Laramie Snell, Mark Newman, Stan Butler, and Mark McManus. Honorary pallbearers will be, Brad Hance, Frank Broderick; the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class at Scipio Baptist Church and members of USMC Lima 3/7. Fred was born to William Fred and Ruby Dell (Mitchell) Morrison in Waco, Texas on December 5, 1946. He grew up in Waco and graduated from Richfield High School in 1966. Fred served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1969 and received 3 Purple Hearts while serving in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged with the rank of corporal in April 1, 1969. Fred married Lynneann Lorraine Ford on Augus 16, 1968 in McAlester. He worked as a truck driver for Robertson Tank Line and Quality Services in Texas. He went on to work as a truck driver for the State of Oklahoma for the commodities warehouse and OSI. Fred enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in the hayfield, driving tractors and bulldozers. Fred was a member of Scipio Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Fred Morrison, Sr and Ruby D. (Mitchell) Morrison. He is survived by his wife, Lynn (Ford) Morrison of the home; daughter, Paula Morrison of Scipio; son, Rev. Fred Morrison and wife, Shelly of Indianola; grandchildren, Janie Matney and Ralph Higgins of Scipio, Daniel Morrison and wife, Rachel of Crowder, Charlie Snell and husband, Laramie of McAlester; great grandchildren, Brycelynn Morrison, Levi Morrison, Mason Stephens, Carsyn Snell, Ollie Mae Snell and Rilee Frazier; brother, Robert Morrison and wife, Gayla of Eddie, Texas; sister, Kay Tyler and husband, Bill of Troy, Texas; numerous other family members and friends.
