Mary Jane (Heskett) Luman, 76 of Pittsburg passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 21, 2025 in McAlester surround by loved ones.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Hugh Low Cemetery officiated by Rev. Kenny Morrow and Chaplain Louis Reynolds. Burial will follow.
Lunch will be served following the service at 1:00 p.m. at Pittsburg Baptist Church, Pittsburg.
Pallbearers will be Bolan Hall, Mark Furr, Shawn Luman, Dillon Luman, Heath McEntire, Josh Furr and Joseph Sieger.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lukacey Luman, Kooper Vanorden, Coal Hall, Wacey Nowlin and Wesley Strain.
Mary Jane was one of eleven children born to Herbert and Ina (Crandell) Heskett on April 8, 1949, in Scipio. She attended school in Indianola. She worked as an in-home caregiver for the elderly for several years.
She loved being at home and especially taking care of her children and grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. Mary was a person of faith and lived a life serving others.
In her early years she was a seamstress and a talented artist.
She lived in the Pittsburg area for most of her adult life.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Ina Heskett; brothers, Herbert Heskett, Jr., Roy Heskett, David Heskett, Henry Heskett; sisters, Bobbie Davis, Margie Heskett- Arroyo, Mildred "Mid" Reed and Okla Heskett; aunt, Mary Crandell and an uncle, Martin Luther "Lute" Crandell.
Mary is survived by her son, Larry Luman, Jr. and Paula; daughters, Bessie McEntire and husband, Heath, Lacie Furr and husband, Josh, Andie Sieger and husband, Joseph; grandchildren, Dillon Luman, Shawn Luman and Riley, Austyn Luman and Trenton Spears, Tynasea Luman, Mark Furr, August Furr, Rylan Sieger, Bolan Hall, Parker Sieger, Copper Hall, Coal Hall, Jasper Sieger; 2 great grandchildren, Kooper Vanorden, Lukacey Luman; plus an upcoming great granddaughter, Dawsyn Spears; sisters, Mavis Shandy, Wanda Heskett; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members; her dear friends, Judy Nalley, Shirley Cravins, Callie and Kyle Foster, Tena Nowlin; her former husband, children's father and good friend, Larry Luman, Sr.; a special friend, Gladdie Lunda; and numerous other friends.
Mary was adored and loved by all who knew her. She will be missed but not forgotten
