Hazel Claudine (Rogers) Lott, 85, of McAlester, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024 in McAlester, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Lott, Dustin Lott, Vincent Lott, Tyler Lott, Adam Zarski, and Zac Zarski. Family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Hugh Low Cemetery in Scipio, Oklahoma. Reverend Chip Lott will be officiating. Burial will follow. Hazel was born on November 6, 1938 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Cyril Rogers and Vada Alene (Hanks) Rogers. A proud graduate of Moss High School's class of 1958. She married the love of her life, James Lott, on May 17, 1958, in Oklahoma. Their journey together took them to Kansas for a time, but it was in McAlester, Oklahoma, where they planted their roots and built a lifetime of memories. Hazel's role as a homemaker was one she cherished deeply, often being celebrated as the best homemaker. Her chocolate fried pies became a symbol of her love and care, a treat that earned recognition far and wide. Hazel's nurturing spirit led her to create a warm and loving home for her family. Her love for children was immeasurable, and she extended that love to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and fulfillment. Hazel found peace and happiness in camping and fishing, sharing these passions with her family and friends. She enjoyed taking road trips and navigating the family camper to California and beyond. Hazel's faith was the cornerstone of her life. A long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church, she lived her beliefs through acts of kindness and a commitment to her community Hazel was an enthusiastic basketball player in her younger years, and her love for the game was only matched by her love for all of her children, to whom she always held a special place in her heart. Hazel's legacy is one of love, faith, and the joy of life's simple pleasures. Hazel is survived by her husband of 66 years: James Lott; sons: James Duane of McAlester, Roger Lott and wife, Paula of McAlester; daughter: Lisa Lott-Zarski and husband, Phillip of Tulsa; grandchildren: Jeremy Lott and wife, Kimberly, Jaime Ethridge, Dustin Lott and wife, Karlita, Vincent Lott and wife, Samantha, Tyler Lott and wife, Kaitlan, Adam Zarski, Zac Zarski; great-grandchildren: Dylan Lott, Katie Lott, Charles Lott, Roman Wimsett, Rainer Lott, Mattie Lewis, Chance Lott, Brody Lott, Mackenzie Lott, Maci Lott, and a great-grandson on the way, Hudson Lott; a great-great-granddaughter: Blazee Lott; brother: Troy Rogers and wife, Laverne of Horn Town; sisters: Pat Sepeda and husband, Jess of McAlester, Lavada Adams and husband, Michael of McAlester; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Hazel is preceded in death by her parents: Cyril and Vada Alene Rogers; grandson-in-law: Patrick Ethridge.
