Jo Ella Waldrop, of Hartshorne, OK, passed away on April 23, 2024, in Edmond, OK at the age of 94. She was in the home she shared with her younger daughter, Beth, surrounded by family. Jo Ella was born on October 10, 1929 in Hartshorne, OK. Jo Ella was kind, loving, giving, and adored by all who knew her. She was very family-oriented and cherished her loved ones. From dyeing Easter eggs, building gingerbread houses, trick or treating or building sandcastles on the beach, she was there for it all and brought such joy to her family. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Orcutt; son-in-law, Paul Orcutt; daughter, Janel Beth Ann Waldrop; granddaughter, Renee Orcutt; grandson-in-law, Mark Miller; grandsons, Travis Orcutt, Ethan, Evan, and Ewan Norman; great-grandsons, Cade and Hudson Miller; and sister, Geraldine Dunagan. As well as many loved nieces and nephews. Jo Ella was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Mass; father, Pete Mass; beloved husband, Bill B Waldrop; brothers, Denver, Frank, and Tony Mass; and sisters, Ann Shamasko, Delia Sebeckis, and Floria Mass. She began her esteemed career at St. Mary's Catholic Hospital, working under Sister Heidweig. Jo Ella's 45-year career in radiology continued until her retirement from McAlester Regional Hospital in 2003. She held leadership roles and witnessed advancements in X-ray technology, from hand development of film to computerized imagery. Jo Ella mastered it all. She had a special heart for working with children and all patients. Her colleagues deeply respected her as she did them. Jo Ella worshipped at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hartshorne. Her hobbies included spending time with family, cooking, gardening, and creating ceramics. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and cherished visiting her sister in Tulsa. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hartshorne with Father Leonardo Medina officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Hartshorne.
