Lenora Catherine (Laucus) Southern, age 90, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on May 29, 2023. Lenora was born on December 6, 1932 to Ben and Anna Laucus of Hartshorne, Oklahoma. After completing high school in Hartshorne, she received a Life Scholarship to Draughons Business Institute of Tulsa where she studied Secretarial Science. She was especially talented in shorthand dictation and won awards for these skills in high school. Lenora worked as an administrative assistant early in her career and transitioned into collections for American Airline's Freight division where she retired in 1994. After retiring, Lenora moved to Perkins, Oklahoma where she lived until 2009. She enjoyed living in the country, attending church, walking her dog Sugarbear, reading the newspaper, working daily crossword puzzles, and spending time with the family she loved. Lenora left Oklahoma and moved to Texas to help care for her grandchildren and returned to Oklahoma in 2013 spending the remainder of her years in the Tecumseh/Shawnee area. Lenora was a hard worker who always took care of her family. She also loved animals and they loved her too. She lived a life of unwavering faith and persevered through any adversity with grace and determination. Her love for her family and others was evident by her giving heart and her kind, encouraging words. Lenora was predeceased by her parents; her brothers Charlie, Joe, Paul, and John Laucus; and her sister Anne Hall. She is survived by two daughters Kathleen (Joe) Adwon and Stephannie White; her grandchildren Kasey Adwon, Augustus White, and Jake White; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in Hartshorne with Eddy Parker officiating. Her final resting place will be at the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Hartshorne, Oklahoma.
