Elizabeth Faye Rosso, 76, of Hartshorne, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025 at McAlester Regional Health Center. Viewing will be Tuesday, November 11, at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne, with Steve Mass officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brayden Sparks, Dalton Mouser, Kenlon Rosso, Jerry Rigsby, Keith McCullar, and Kenny Barone. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Morrow, Mike James, and Mark Ward. Elizabeth "Liz" Rosso was born on March 14, 1949 in Cummings, Georgia. Her family moved to the Hartshorne area when she was a young child, and she has lived in this area virtually all her life. She graduated from Hartshorne High School in 1967, then attended nursing school at Eastern State College, before finishing her RN training at East Central University in Ada, receiving her Bachelor's Degree. Liz put her nursing skills to work at St Mary's Hospital in McAlester, then at McAlester Regional Health Center, before going to work at the Pittsburg County Health Department. She eventually returned to McAlester Regional, where she was the first wound care nurse for the hospital, until her retirement in 2014. She also taught nursing classes at Kiamichi Vo-Tech for a time. At home, she bred, raised, showed and sold English and French Bulldogs for a number of years. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Hartshorne Housing Authority. Liz is survived by her husband, Barney Rosso, her children, Nathan Sparks and Amanda, and Cody Rosso and Monica; grandchildren, Brayden Sparks and his fiance Emily Short, Paige Mouser and Dalton, Kenlon Rosso, Bryler Rosso, and Kory Sparks; and great grandchildren, Presley Mouser and Oaklee Carol Ann Sparks. Liz was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Rick Sparks; and a brother, Billy Ray Curbow.
