Arvella Jane Smart, 83, of McLoud, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 14, at her home. Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 16, at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Graveside funeral services are set for Friday, Nov. 17, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hickory Grove Cemetery near Haywood, with Jimmy Williams officiating. Pallbearers are Kevin Smart, Glenn Williams, Dylan Stoops, Matt Hasbell, Ron Holloway and Carl Wayne Ketcherside. Arvella Jane Smart was born on March 21, 1940 in McAlester to Bert and Willie Victoria (Campbell) Morris, the youngest of 6 girls. She grew up in McAlester and married Harvey Smart on May 27, 1961. At that time, Harvey had work in the Shawnee area, so they made their home there for the next 60 plus years. Jane was a loving neighbor and friend. She loved spending time at the family cabin on Lake Eufaula and fishing with her husband. She also loved watching her grandchildren playing sports. Jane is survived by her husband, Harvey Smart; a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Edward Hasbell; a son, Keith Smart; 2 grandchildren, Matthew Hasbell and wife Molly, and Tandy Stoops and husband Dylan; and 2 great grandchildren, Mia Hasbell and Mason Hasbell. She was preceded in death by her parents and her 5 sisters.
