Gearldean Smallwood, 84, of Hartshorne, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024 in Hartshorne. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8th at the Elmwood Cemetery Pavilion in Hartshorne. Burial will follow. Gearldean was born on March 2, 1940 in McAlester to John and Dorthy Bell (Mason) Lance. She enjoyed watching TV shows and going to the Hartshorne Library to exercise with the girls. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Alvin and Stephanie Smallwood of Hartshorne, OK; granddaughter and spouse, Jennifer and Shawn McMahan of McAlester, OK; great-granddaughters, Madison McMahan of Alva, OK, Gracie McMahan of McAlester, OK and Hannah McMahan of McAlester, OK; grandson, Michael Smallwood of McAlester, OK; great-granddaughter, Alexis Smallwood of McAlester, OK; one brother, Darrell Lance of McAlester, OK; lifelong friend, Mary McGuire of Gowen, OK; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons, Micheal Shane Smallwood and James Braden Smallwood; mother, Dorthy Ellison and father, John Lance; sister, Lucille Mayes; brothers, John Henry Lance and Frank Lance.
