Morris Eugene Nowlin, 84, of Haileyville, died Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Beare Manor Nursing Center in Hartshorne. The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, February 17 at Bishop Funeral Service. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 18 at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne with Rev. Terry Sensibaugh officiating. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service. Morris was born January 14, 1931 in Lane, Oklahoma to Floyd and Adah (Dodson) Nowlin. He grew up in Lane and Atoka and was a graduate of Atoka High School. Morris worked in the construction industry and as a cross-country truck driver for Trucks for You based in Muskogee, where he earned a safety award for logging One-Million, Accident-Free Miles. Morris later worked for and retired from Pittsburg County District I. He married Jo Elaine Sensibaugh on December 3, 1987 in Haileyville, Oklahoma where they established their home. Morris enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on his deer camp land and simply being outdoors. He liked to talk to and tease others and enjoyed visiting with his family and friends. He always cared for stray animals and especially loved his Beagle dogs. He is survived by his wife: Jo Elaine Nowlin of the home; children: Eugene Nowlin and Felicia of Clayton, Alan Nowlin of Holdenville, Lawana Nowlin and Dale of Denton, Texas, Priscilla Nowlin of Dallas, Texas; step-son: Shawn Morris of Longtown. Also, siblings: Viva Lee Eastridge and husband, Vernon of Atoka, Ted Nowlin and wife, Sue of Lane, Ben Nowlin of Atoka; sisters-in-law: Dora Faye Nowlin of Farris, Louise West and husband, Buddy of Bache; brother-in-law: Edmond Sensibaugh and wife, Carla of Haileyille, mother-in-law: Wanda Sensibaugh of Haileyville; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Floyd and Adah (Dodson) Nowlin, his brothers: Forrest Nowlin and Carol Nowlin, a son: Joe Nowlin, and his father-in-law: Orville Sensibaugh.
