Mary Jane Freeman, 79 of Stuart died at her home Thursday, June 8, 2023. The family will greet friends 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday June 9, 2023 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday June 10, 2023 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. Joel Price and Rev. Terry Ray Williams. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Hartshorne. Arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory, McAlester. Pallbearers will be, Michael Lee Sudduth, Brock Sudduth, Charles Cook, Marshall Doig, Ethan Freeman and Wyatt Howry. Honorary pallbearers, Blaze Freeman, Joe Cannon, Hosie Teague, Bud Smith, Derrek Fry and Derek Clayton. Mary was born June 30, 1943 to Dovie Teague and Edward Volland in Moyers, Oklahoma. She lived most of her life in Gowen and Hartshorne where she met and married her best friend, Arlie Freeman October 15, 1972 Mary was a kind, gentle and generous person and she loved to take care of everyone. She worked in nursing homes and home health as a nurse. She had also worked in the Gowen general store and post office for her mother-in-law, Ada Freeman. Mary was "Granny" to so many people, and was always there to brighten the lives of others. She had a passion for cooking, especially baking pies, that everyone loved! Mary loved to sew and made AAU Boxing boys and girls trunks and robes when all her boys were involved with boxing. Mary loved road trips and always look forward and enjoyed her yearly trip to Mexico City Beach, Florida with the family. Mary resided with her daughter, Denise Russell and husband, Wayne of the home and grandbabies, Kiara, Tristen, Shakira and Faith Russell. Mary will be greatly missed but not forgotten. She is now reunited with her parents, Dovie Teague and Edward Volland; her husband, Arlie Freeman; son, Gary Sockey; grandson, Keon Russell sisters, Julie Baldwin and Fae Shepherd; brothers, Jimmy Volland, Billy Volland; her special best friend, Diane Fry. Mary is survived by her children, daughters, Denise Russell and husband, Wayne of Stuart, Arliene Nash and husband, Darren of Stuart, sons, Billy Sockey of Stuart, John Freeman and wife, Charla of High Hill, Rodney Luker and wife, Kathy of McAlester, Charles Sockey of West Virginia; step children that she loved as her own, son, Donald Freeman of Gilbert, Arizona; daughter, Barbara Benton of Oklahoma City and son, Gene Tuszynski of Chandler, Arizona; very special friend and daughter at heart, Amanda Williams and life-long friends, Bud and Anita Smith and Cathy Walling; grandchildren, Bridget Sudduth, Charlie Cook and spouse, Les, Geena Howry and fiancé, Jason Parrish, Wyatt Howry, Kendra Nash, Jon Sockey, Patrick Luker, Hailey Heddleston and spouse, Tyce, Blaze Freeman, Ethan Freeman, Victoria Freeman, Daryan Clayton and spouse, Derrek, Joe Freeman, Luke Dry, Benjamin Henington, Ashton Sockey, Nikki Sockey, Marshall Doig and spouse, Brittni, Kiara Russell, Tristen Russell, Shakira Russell, Faith Russell, Sandra Carr and spouse, Thomas, Joyce Tuszynski, Joann Tuszynski, Jhaxon White, Gracie White; seventeen great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Southeast Hospice and her nursing team, Pat and Christie.
