Mary Alice Clunn, 75, of McAlester, formerly of Hartshorne, passed away Monday, June 1, at her home in McAlester. Viewing will be Thursday and Friday at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Jones Academy Gymnasium with Rev. Clint Pope officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne. Pallbearers will be Donnell Williams, Cody Williams, Robert Hunt, Jacob Hunt, Devin Rolan, and Taylor Payne. Mary Clunn was born on Feb. 20, 1945 in Higgins, Okla. to Elvin Franklin and Opal Camella (Ott) Thomason. She grew up in Higgins and Hartshorne, and has made Hartshorne her home virtually all her life. She married Grady Clunn in July, 1978. He preceded her in death. Mary had worked at Seamproof for a short time before going to work at Oklahoma Aerotronics, where she worked for over 20 years. After their closure, she went to work at Jones Academy, where she was a dorm matron for over 20 years, and was still employed there. Mary is survived by her daughter and a son-in-law, Billie and Donnell Williams of Ada; her sons and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Vickie Hunt of McAlester and Jay Hunt of Hartshorne; a step-daughter, Kristi Clunn of McAlester and a step son, Brian Clunn and wife, Janine of Jenks; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; 7 brothers, Tom Thomason and Sharon, David Thomason, George Thomason, Richard Thomason and Paula, James Thomason, Carl Thomason and Calvin Thomason and Linda; a sister and brother-in-law, Carol Woods and Bailey; and a special friend, Linda Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers, Niles and Robert Thomason; and sisters-in -law, Norma, Cathy and Marvella.
