Emma Ruth (Peoples) Anderson, 72, of McAlester, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at her residence. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 5 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Rev. James Crowson officiating. Inurnment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne at a later date. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service. Born June 24, 1942 at Greenwood, Arkansas, she graduated from Haileyville High School and attended Eastern Oklahoma State College and South Eastern Oklahoma State University. She was a homemaker and loved to be with her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters: Sherry Bedford of McAlester, Penni Opperman and husband, Kipp of McAlester; grandchildren: Brooklyn Bedford, Kipp Opperman; brothers: Gary Peoples and wife, Diane of Hartshorne, Mitchell Peoples of Haileyville; sisters: Kathy Zelnick of Haileyville, Annamae Caughnington; children�s father: Tommy Anderson of Hartshorne; and nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother: Alma Zelnick, father: Smiley Zelnick, brothers: Donald Peoples and Nicky Zelnick, sister: Jeanine Burns, and grandson: Richard Neal Bedford, II.
