Maurice Gray, 89, of McAlester, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022 at his home. He was born on September 16, 1932 in McAlester to Tom and Florence (Smith) Gray. He married Marcella White on August 16, 1952 in McAlester. He loved bluegrass music, hunting, fishing, gardening and was a wild fur buyer for 50 years. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Darrell Lyons of the home; grandchildren, Johnny Gray, Brandon Gray, Damian Tripp, Payden Lyons, Dalton Lyons, Heather Olinger, Melissa McKibben, Eileen Paulsen and Kady Martin; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Homer Paul and Ruth Gray of Mesquite, TX, Cecil and Sharron Gray of Amarillo, TX; and brother-in-law, Jim Herrin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Gray; children, Nicky, Gary and Monty Gray; and brother Thomas Gray. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester. Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Brumley-Mills Chapel in McAlester with Shelly Lyons officiating. Burial will follow at Dorsey Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Darrell Lyons, Payden Lyons, Dalton Lyons, Damian Tripp, Johnny Gray and Brandon Gray. Honorary pallbearers will be Duane Allen, James Prince, Dale Yount, Danny Giacomo and Jim Herrin.
