Helen Mae (Mead) McClellan, loving wife of the late Delmar McClellan, went home to be with her Lord on January 5, 2017.
Helen was born on September 2, 1925 in Hartman, Arkansas, Johnson County, the eldest child of Thomas Reuben and Mary Ann (Hampton) Mead. She moved to Oklahoma as a young child and resided in Crowder and the Crowder area for 78 years.
She married Delmar McClellan on March 7, 1942 in Crowder. They were married for 65 years.
Helen was a member of Crowder First Baptist Church for 78 years where she faithfully taught Sunday School for more than 35 years, served as the Vacation Bible School director for many of those years, and was involved in many other church activities throughout the years.
She and Delmar were involved in many community activities which included being involved parents in all their children's school activities. In addition to being a devoted and loving wife and mother, she was employed by Komar for more than 30 years.
Helen's love of the Lord radiated from her like a sunbeam splitting through a dark cloud on a rainy day. As a devoted mother, she loved spending time with her family and was a constant inspiration and role model. Her loving guidance and dedication to her family and her Sunday School students is her legacy. Her presence and her gift for seeing beauty in everything, as well as her unconditional love, made life easier for everyone around her.
