Loretta June Cox was given her angel wings on Sunday, December 19, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 84. Loretta was born on August 11, 1937 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Charlie and Louise (Chadwick) Keefer. She attended school in Holdenville and Calvin. She married Cecil H. Cox on December 10, 1965 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. They resided in Holdenville for a short time before moving to McAlester in 1966. They moved to Crowder in 1973 where she lived until her passing. Loretta joined her husband working at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant in 1966. She retired in 1997 with 20 years of service. She and her husband raised two daughters and later adopted and raised two grandsons. Loretta loved flower gardens and was known for having a green thumb. She loved to sew, fish, feed her birds and being outdoors. She loved collecting Precious Moments dolls and had amassed a huge collection. Most of all she loved her Savior, her family and all of her friends who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Cecil H. Cox of Crowder, OK; children and spouses, Terri and Wayne Workman of Arpelar, OK, Bryan and Christy Cox of Eufaula, OK and Joseph Cox of Crowder, OK; great-granddaughters, Madison Cox and Amanda Cox; brother, Jimmy Keefer of Holdenville, OK and a special friends, Carmalita Weebe and Bruce Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Louise Keefer; daughter, Rhonda Sipes; grandson, Jeremy John Sipes; brothers, Wayne Keefer and Gene Keefer; sisters, Lola Jones, Wanda Elkins and Rose Epperly. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home. Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Brumley-Mills Chapel in McAlester with Pastor Earl Scroggins officiating. Burial will follow at Crowder Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bruce Smith, Harry Bennett, Dan James, Wayne Wingo, Juan Beal and Jerry Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be James Shannon, Wayne Workman, Jack Nobles and Raymond Leader.
