Audie "Bub" Cummins Jr., a loving, funny, and faith-filled man, passed away on May 30, 2023, in Ardmore, OK. He was born to Audie Cummins, Sr and Sylvia McDaniel on November 30, 1967, in Talihina, Oklahoma. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Chambers Cemetery with Reverend Jeremey Scott officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be: Al Mendoza, Jordan McDaniel, Brandon McDaniel, Walter Pickens, Brian Cummins, and Mark Cummins. As a tribute to Bub, please wear your OU shirts to the service. Audie is survived by his sisters: Sharlene Cummins and significant other: Sheila Jackson of Ardmore, Oklahoma, and Ashley Jaimes of Durant, Oklahoma; his brother: Antonio Cummins of Durant, Oklahoma; his son: Christopher Cummins of Ada, Oklahoma; his aunts: Morene Gooch of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Della Gibson of Calera, Oklahoma; his uncles: Bucky Cummins and wife Glenda of Colbert, Oklahoma, and Gideon McDaniel of Atoka, Oklahoma; his granddaughter: Jasmine Cummins of Durant, Oklahoma; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father: Audie Cummins Sr.; his mother: Sylvia McDaniel; his sister: Glenda S. Perez-Monticello; and his niece: Tashina Catherine Denise Perez. Audie enjoyed walking and sitting at the park, taking in the beauty of nature and the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fan of Sooner football, and his enthusiasm for the game was contagious. Audie shared a special bond with his sister Sharlene, and the two spent countless hours together, riding in her semi-truck and enjoying each other's company. His love for his family was evident in the way he cared for and supported them throughout his life. Audie was proud to be a member of the Choctaw Nation. On November 4, 2018, Audie found Christ and was baptized, embracing a faith-filled life that would bring him great joy and comfort. His loving and funny nature endeared him to all who knew him, and his strong faith served as an inspiration to those around him. Audie will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
