Pittsburg Calvary Cemetery



Clyde W. Swain, 80, of Pittsburg, Oklahoma passed away at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Monday, February 22, 2021. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Pittsburg Cemetery in Pittsburg, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Rocke Feemster, Mike Haynes, Hunter Christman, Rex Hatridge, Jared Sweetin, and Randy Capehart. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Christman, Bud Little, Colton Scott, Aaron Shannon, Phil Hatridge, Terry Riddle, his Coffee Shop Buddies, his Hatco Buddies, and all his Railroad Friends. Clyde was born on October 23, 1940 in Kiowa, Oklahoma to George E. Swain and Emma (Snider) Swain. He married Shirley Capehart on May 7, 1965. Clyde worked for the MKT Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad for 38 years and retired as a track inspector. During retirement, Clyde enjoyed working his cattle and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Shirley Swain of the home; his children: Sherri Fry and husband, Harold of Kiowa, Pat Shannon and husband, T.J. of Pittsburg, and Kay Scott and husband, Jeremy of Pittsburg; his loving grandchildren: Fallon Scott, Colton Scott, Aaron Shannon, Brett Shannon, Hunter Christman, Dusty Fry, and Cody Fry; two great granddaughters: Hannah Fry, and Bailey Fry; a nephew: Eric Capehart of Blanco; brother-in-law: Randy Capehart and wife, Brenda of Kiowa; and other family and a host of friends. Clyde is preceded in death by his parents: George and Emma Swain; and two brothers: Warren Lee Swain, and Billy Joe Swain.
